Spring Cometh + Birds & Bees
Spring is in full bloom, and our creative hearts are want to do the same.
I am so excited for this window change. For this theme change. Sometimes, the change over is energetically easy. Sometimes, I'm not ready to let go of the energy of a window (ritual) in the shop. And more rarely, am I really ready for a new energy. However, I'm ready to start pollinating some of the ideas that have been seedlings since we opened. I'm ready to take the steps towards that future that is barely discernible on the horizon.
When our now ending theme of the Hare in the Moon came online, I knew there would be losses. Things were going to be sacrificed to make room for the ever changing vision of the Cult of Gemini. Somehow the sacrifices have been so lovely and gentle, a natural unfolding of the new way of things. Not to say that the letting go of old ideas, ways of being, even people from the shop and my life has not been painful or emotional. It continues to be so. The images conjured in my mind at the word sacrifice are more in line with the Aztec scenes in Apocalypto.
But there is no horror here. No viscous or bloody killings were necessary to appease the Gods, and really our own souls. Nothing needed to be slayed and cut away to make it easier to lose. Rather there has been a gentle letting go, watching as it passes down the river, or lifts into the sky until it's not visible anymore. This beautiful lesson of death (transformation) can be sweet when we allow it to be and refuse to struggle.
I know some of you are waiting for this shoe to drop. Maybe you've been waiting for it for the last 8 months as I have been. The two of us have known that it was coming, but the questions of why or when had been unseen. My sister and beloved Kat will be stepping away from the Cult mid-June to pursue her own creativity and path. I'm happy to say that there has been no drama or falling out that has caused this to happen, but rather a diverging of life desires.
While I feel the separation very keenly already, we are both excited for this new beginning. Kat continues to connect with her newer creative dreams and needs the space and time to manifest them. And just the thoughts of this new freedom for her is fueling new ways in which we may collaborate in the future. Not all is lost, friends. Kat will be our new fill-in person, and will continue to give her insights through the tarot here on Thursdays, and my creative consultant for as long as she can stand it.
Coming at just the right time, Angelina, has let go of some things in her life to join us for a regular schedule of Wednesdays and Saturdays beginning the first week of June. She's also doing Goddess Oracle Sessions on Tuesdays. And we are thrilled to announce that Cynthia Levesque (former owner of NevaCo in Nevada City) will be taking over Kat's Tuesday's beginning Mid June. We continue to be blessed with our Angel/Bruja Erika holding down Friday's and Sunday's and readings on Saturdays.
As Priestess of the Cult (insert uncomfortable squirming here), its my literal function to receive the subtle messages from the divine and interpret them in to action and manifestation in the shop. As we let go of some physical things from the shop, mainly in our backroom space, I'm making room to create a workspace so that I can begin to make and bless many things that I've dreamed and haven't had the time/space to do. So many new things will be coming this summer.
For this moment however, we are reveling in the craft of making this window. Al Martinez of Da-Vinch Studios is doing another amazing build for us. This one is gonna hype! You have no idea the lengths that have been gone through to make this thing happen. It's one of my favorite windows conceptually already, and the pieces that we keep getting are slaying even my wildest dreams about what this would look like. I want to thank Al for his continued work, dedication to our visions, and willingness to literally make anything. We hope you join us as we honor him on Wednesday evening.
With fullness in my heart, and a twinge of sadness and tears, I prepare for the future. I open my heart flower, and ask the Goddess and Creator to pollinate me. Give me the sustenance to bear the fruit of your influence, and the good sense to let it ripen before I pick it.
Welcome friends to Birds & Bees,
Ginger (aka Rachel Lazarus)
